Channel 3 News is reporting that the mysterious bag earlier reported to be found at the 11th Infantry Regiment was merely a rumor. Although authorities have increased security at the National Peacekeeping Command headquarters, nothing out of the ordinary has occured.

Yeah, I expect a lot more rumours.

As for fiasco, are you referring to the planning or lack of, by the Reds?

    Or, the potential for unrest?

    Or, perhaps, both.

Certainly looks weak at the moment but don't draw your conclusions yet.
A couple of months back I met one of the retired generals who is a Redshirt supporter.
He was convinced that they could win.

They have not revealed their tactics yet.

Security is really getting tight now. I put a rolled up sock in my underwear and went to a go go last week. I was arrested for having a suspicious package in a public place.

The government is likely to extend the Internal Security Act (ISA) in Bangkok after two grenades exploded on Saturday night near state agencies.

    snip

The first bomb went off at the new offices of the NACC on Sanambin Nam Road in Nonthaburi about 9.50pm, leaving a 30cm-deep crater and damaging the wall of the building. There were no report of injuries.

About 11 pm, another bomb exploded at Soi Phang Phuthorn, close to the Interior Ministry. At least two injuries were reported.

Police believe grenades were used in both cases. Attacks with M79 grenade launchers have become increasingly common.

The three bomb attacks on late Saturday night near the red-shirt rally site in Bangkok could be linked with certain core members of the anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), according to the peacekeeping operations centre.

Red-shirt female protesters will be sent to check whether soldiers overseeing the anti-government rally in Bangkok are armed, United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) co-leader Weng Tojirakarn announced at the main protest venue near Phan Fa bridge on Monday morning.

"About 1,000 women red-shirts will be sent to check the military tents around the rally site.

"If the soldiers stop them from checking their tents the red-shirts will conclude that they carry weapons and have an intention to harm people," Mr Weng said.

Police release sketches of suspected grenade attackers at Defence Ministry

BANGKOK, March 23 (TNA) - Pol Lt-Gen Santan Chayanont, chief of Bangkok's Metropolitan Police Bureau have released sketches of two men suspected on involvement in the rocket-propelled grenade attack at the Ministry of Defense Ministry last Saturday.

Drawn from descriptions given by witnesses, the sketches give visual impressions similar to the images recorded on the ministry's surveillance cameras.

The first suspect is a man 1.8 metres tall man, with a shaved head, but the second wore a cap.

Police said they had determined the identities of the suspects, and are now gathering evidence to seek arrest warrants for them.

According to the initial investigation, police believed that the RPG attack the Ministry of Defense was unrelated to the M79 grenade attack at the first Infantry Regiment on March 15 and the M67 fragmentation grenade attack at a highway maintenance office in Thonburi Monday night.

Police said that the case was complicated, but the Metropolitan Police Bureau advised it would speed up the investigation to find those responsible.

A street sweeper was slightly wounded when the RPG was fired outside the ministry. Police found a pick-up truck carrying an RPG launcher, an M67 grenade, and a supply of ammunition about 500 metres from the explosion site.
