There are also serious rumors that Anupong Paojinda, has been on a recent witch hunt for Red Shirt sympathizers in the army and it is believed that about 20,000 plus soldiers of various ranks are on suspension.
Recently about 50 high ranking soldiers some retired but still powerful have joined Puey Thai. Then there is the group of Special Warfare and the Volunteer Rangers under Sae Daeng that are known to be on Thaksin side.
The democrats are troubled by this, hence Suthep cry for a military inquiry on reports that several retired soldiers attended the recent UDD demo at Democracy monument last Thursday.
Further more there is talk that the Red Shirt is poised to go underground with a violent campaign against the military backed government of Abhisit. But this could be scare mongering by Suthep and his cronies to frighten the undecided middleclass away from supporting the UDD, but you never know especially when Sae Dang (General Khattiya Sawasdipol) has been saying that the Graduate Class of 9 may cause an open revolt in Thailand’s military.
