LATEST NEWSAnother suicide at Tiffany’s Shooting Range in North Pattaya. French man shoots himself in the head.
Saturday 10th June 2006
We now report on another apparent suicide at the Tiffany Shooting Range in North Pattaya. In front of Booth Number 10 lay the body of Mr. Dihrisso Mamadol aged 31 from France. Inside his trouser pocket was a suicide note in English Language which stated that he was broken hearted over a Thai woman who had recently left him after a lengthy relationship. Using a 9mm semi-automatic hand gun hired from the Shooting Range he shot himself in the head. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanatat from Pattaya Police Station oversaw the investigation at the scene and interviewed staff at Tiffany’s who claimed the man rented a gun and was assigned Booth Number 10, he appeared normal and in no way emotional as he approached the booth. He came to the center with a lady called “Mot” who was shocked and surprised at the successful suicide attempt and was unaware of any domestic problems with Mr. Mamadol. Once again the Tiffany Shooting Range is under the spotlight with three suicides in the last year. Despite each case, the shooting range has not updated their safety procedures. Although suicides can be hard to prevent when individuals are given access to live ammunition, the debate about whether shooting ranges should be banned here in Thailand is sure to continue based on this event.
