Another suicide at Tiffany’s Shooting Range

    Our News is Always New
    LATEST NEWS

    Saturday 10th June 2006
Another suicide at Tiffany’s Shooting Range in North Pattaya. French man shoots himself in the head.
We now report on another apparent suicide at the Tiffany Shooting Range in North Pattaya. In front of Booth Number 10 lay the body of Mr. Dihrisso Mamadol aged 31 from France. Inside his trouser pocket was a suicide note in English Language which stated that he was broken hearted over a Thai woman who had recently left him after a lengthy relationship. Using a 9mm semi-automatic hand gun hired from the Shooting Range he shot himself in the head. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanatat from Pattaya Police Station oversaw the investigation at the scene and interviewed staff at Tiffany’s who claimed the man rented a gun and was assigned Booth Number 10, he appeared normal and in no way emotional as he approached the booth. He came to the center with a lady called “Mot” who was shocked and surprised at the successful suicide attempt and was unaware of any domestic problems with Mr. Mamadol. Once again the Tiffany Shooting Range is under the spotlight with three suicides in the last year. Despite each case, the shooting range has not updated their safety procedures. Although suicides can be hard to prevent when individuals are given access to live ammunition, the debate about whether shooting ranges should be banned here in Thailand is sure to continue based on this event.

I've never heard of 'take-out' suicides. Rather tragic - 'come to our shooting range and blow your brain out'. Very weird indeed.

Don't know if I would have chosen a 9mm for the job either.

Why? It seemed to have the effect that he was looking for, also I don't think you can rent bigger than that.

Something odd about this shooting range.
    Probably an evil spirit there.
The owners should get the monks to do a proper ritual for the place.

I think that a 9mm will do the job - I'm not speaking from personal experience you understand.

I lived near the Deepcut army barracks for a while, which has had bad publicity due to a number of suicides by the young recruits.

One man apparently shot himself in the side of the head with his service issue rifle and then switched sides and shot himself from the other side.

Any similarity with events in Pattaya is purely co-incidental.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

Better to off yourself at the shooting range than take a dive outa a high-rise. All that mess on the sidewalk.

Come on guys, you know how difficult it is to commit suicide here in Thailand. Some people have been known to shoot themselves several times - with different guns - before the job is done. Others have to undress (dunno why, but it seems to be standard procedure), tie their hands behind their backs, pull a plastic bag over their heads, slit their wrists, and still have to jump off the balcony to finnish the job.

So to pay for more than one bullet makes sense - you can't be too careful.....
Any error in tact, fact or spelling is purely due to transmissional errors...

When I went to a gun range in Korea the guns were attached to a wire so I couldn't shoot people.

We'd certainly recommend you try Tiffany's Squirrel.

Let us know if you can shoot yourself!

A recent TV dramatisation of the final days of Hitler showed that his followers in the bunker had a "back-up" method. They put a cyanide capsule between their teeth. They then pointed their pistol to the roof of the mouth. As they crunched the capsule they pulled the trigger. If the bullet didn't do it then the cyanide would do it. (they feared the cyanide on its own might be too painful or take too long.) OK?
BTW this thread has taken on a nasty tone...take it off.
