All students and teachers at a school in Ban Don sub-district, in U Thong district of Suphan Buri province, were evacuated by the police as a precaution, for fear that a gunman would go to the school to look for his son, after he allegedly shot and killed three relatives in a house.


Police said today that the gunman opened fire with a pistol, killing his uncle, two aunts and wounding another in an adjacent house. The shooting occurred at about 8am.


After being alerted, police rushed to the scene, but the gunman had already left the house and was believed to be heading for the nearby school to look for his son, who is studying there.


Police then ordered all the students and teachers to evacuate immediately for their safety, as they tried to locate the gunman.


The motive for the fatal shootings is still under investigation.
