In a pre-dawn raid at 3:06 AM, Chonburi Provincial Police, led by Pol. Col. Phaskorn Paichit, Superintendent of the Investigation Division, alongside Pol. Lt. Col. Nopparut Jitman, Deputy Superintendent, Pol. Maj. Peerawat Wongthong, Investigation Inspector, and Pol. Sub-Lt. Sornsak Pinthong, Deputy Inspector, stormed a birthday party in the Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict at a villa.


The operation, supported by Bang Lamung Police Station officers, resulted in the arrest of 55 teenagers, including 11 minors, with the youngest being only 15 years old. Authorities uncovered a large quantity of illegal drugs, including ketamine and ecstasy, scattered throughout the property.

The raid followed a tip from concerned residents reporting a large gathering of youths at the villa. Acting swiftly, police descended on the scene, catching the partygoers off guard. Outside the villa, officers found over ten cars and motorcycles parked, while inside, they discovered a chaotic scene of teenagers drinking, dancing to loud music, and openly using drugs. The sudden arrival of police sparked pandemonium among the group, but officers quickly regained control.


The detainees were separated by gender, with 26 males and 29 females, including 11 minors under 18, two of whom were just 15 years old. A thorough search of the villa revealed drugs discarded or hidden in various spots, including behind televisions and beside beds. Numerous transparent zip-lock bags containing traces of ketamine were also found strewn across tables and the floor.


Initial questioning revealed that the party was organized to celebrate the 21st birthday a person well known locally as “Sod Pattaya.” Unable to enter entertainment venues due to the presence of underage friends, the group rented the pool villa for the event.

All 55 individuals underwent drug testing, with 50 testing positive for narcotics, including nearly all the minors, as indicated by purple urine tests. Those who tested positive, along with individuals claiming ownership of the seized ketamine and ecstasy, were handed over to Banglamung Police Station investigators for further legal action.

Seems a bit odd that the police can legally demand on the spot urine tests from minors.
