DJ Tete found dead after abduction in Kanchanaburi

Forensic officers are conducting an investigation following the discovery of DJ Tete’s body, who was abducted earlier.

Warapong Khunsrijaturong, a 33 year old man also known as DJ Tete, was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified people. The incident occurred around 3.53am on May 14 in Pruksa Kan 5 Village, Soi 7, Tha Makham subdistrict, Mueang district, Kanchanaburi province.

The police have questioned two suspects related to the case, both of whom denied involvement and refused to provide any statements. Their vehicle was taken for a thorough examination.

Yesterday, May 17, investigators traced the last known phone signal to a remote area behind a golf course, where they found evidence, including four 15-inch car tyres from a Suzuki Swift concealed in the woods. Other car parts were discovered, but it remains unclear which parts of the vehicle they belong to.

Today, May 18, reporters confirmed the discovery of DJ Tete’s body in Wang Dong subdistrict, Mueang district, Kanchanaburi. He was found wearing clothes similar to those on the day of his disappearance.

The body is awaiting official identification by the police. The commissioner of Provincial Police Region 7 and forensic officers have arrived at the scene, with further updates expected.

Related reports highlighted the stress of the suspects, one of whom damaged a journalist’s camera. DJ Tete’s father drove for 12 hours to file a report, hoping for his son’s safe return. CCTV footage captured the abduction, raising concerns for DJ Tete’s life and prompting pleas for his release.

Four Suspects Wanted In Brutal Murder Of DJ At Kanchanaburi

POLICE have have identified four suspects in the brutal murder of a DJ in Kanchanaburi who was found by villagers in a forest with his hands tied behind his back and shot twice in the temple after disappearing upon leaving a pub in this western province at 3 a.m. last Wednesday (May 14), TV Channel 7 and Amarin TV said today (May 18).

A romantic relationship is believed to have led to the murder of the DJ, Mr. Warapong Khunsrichaturong, 33, or Taytay, with Ms. A, his girlfriend, telling police that she had talked to him about his involvement with Ms. Nam many times urging him to break up with her and he said he had stopped seeing her. She didn’t think something like this would escalate to this point.

Police said a white pickup truck and a black sedan followed Taytay after he left the pub and disappeared.

The black sedan was found parked and covered at a house in Ratchaburi province. The owner said a man, only identified as Mr. Nop, asked to park this vehicle there temporarily claiming it had broken down. He also asked him for a ride on his motorcycle to a pickup truck parked in front of Ratchaburi Industrial Estate to head to Bangkok.

Police found parts of this sedan including the console, air filter and a wheel discarded at a hut behind a golf course in Kanchanaburi with Taytay’s last phone signal coming from there. It is certain this was where the gang brought him before murdering him. It is believed removing these parts was an attempt to destroy evidence.

Of the four suspects wanted in this kidnap-murder case, one has already been arrested but as he denies the charges, claiming he went to see a friend in the same area Taytay disappeared, he is currently he held on drug charges as police continue gathering evidence to request for arrest warrants from the court.

Mr. Wichian, Taytay’s father, said he was relieved that his son’s body, which he is now taking back to their hometown in Kalasin province for a funeral, was finally found. As for tracking down his killers, he said he would leave that to the police with the gang being very brutal.

A Kanchanaburi villager who went to collect forest products and found Taytay’s body said he first only saw his shoes but as it was already getting dark and raining heavily he headed home. The next day he returned with some friends and they then saw his body lying sideways with his hands tied behind his back. They realised he was the missing DJ because his clothes were similar to what he was wearing in a missing person photo of him that appeared on TV and they then notified police.
