On February 6th, 2025, Pattaya police, led by Pol. Col. Nawin Thirawit, conducted inspections and arrests of drug addicts in Soi Bongkot in Pattaya. This action followed residents’ complaints about homeless drug addicts setting fires to trash, endangering nearby homes.

Pol. Lt. Col. Sirichat Nuthet revealed to The Pattaya News team that after receiving the complaints, the police promptly planned and executed an inspection of the area. They identified and tested the urine of the suspicious individuals reported by residents, which tested positive for drugs. The individual admitted to drug use and was taken to Pattaya City Police Station for legal proceedings.

In addition, police forces were deployed to randomly inspect and search suspicious persons in various high-risk areas around Soi Bongkot to prevent the illegal sale and use of drugs.
