The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, led by Minister Narumon Pinyosinwat, is hosting “Beyond & Journey of Siam Orchids” at Siam Paragon Shopping Mall on January 16. Running from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the north parking area on the shopping mall’s third floor, the program will include orchid competitions, exhibitions, and sales. A royal trophy presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will also be awarded.

The showcase spotlights Thailand's orchid industry by introducing new varieties, raising public awareness, and creating connections between farmers, consumers, and entrepreneurs. Competitions will feature potted and cut-flower orchids in categories such as breeding development and aesthetic appeal. Rare colors, unique floral structures, and advanced cultivation techniques will be on display, alongside exhibitions on modern farming methods and interactive sales booths.

Recognized as the leading global producer and exporter of tropical orchids, Thailand relies heavily on cut-flower varieties, which account for 79% of exports. Declining export values in recent years have prompted the ministry to place emphasis on expanding international trade opportunities, supporting farmers with sustainable income solutions, and maintaining Thailand’s status as a global leader in orchid production.

Guests can discover a wide range of orchid species and ornamental plants while gaining insights into modern farming techniques designed to improve production and expand market opportunities. Entry is free, providing visitors an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and economic significance of Thailand's orchid industry.
