A Russian tourist was found dead by hanging in a Na Jomtien apartment in Sattahip.


At 11:00 PM on January 8th, Na Jomtien police received a report of a foreign tourist found dead by hanging at an apartment in the Na Jomtien area in the Sattahip district of Chonburi province. After receiving the report, police, along with rescue workers from the Sawang Rojanatham Foundation, went to the scene for investigation.


At the apartment, authorities found the body of Mr. Batsevichus, a 39-year-old Russian national, in a room on the second floor. He was discovered nude and was hanging by an orange nylon rope tied to the handle of a wardrobe door. Police estimated that he had been deceased for at least 5-10 hours. No signs of assault were detected on his body, and the officers removed the deceased for further investigation.

Police searched the room and found no signs of ransacking or a struggle. According to police, a friend of the deceased visited him after being unable to contact him. They then used a spare key from the accommodation to enter the room and were shocked to discover the victim’s body. They immediately contacted the authorities.


Initially, Na Jomtien police believed the death was a suicide. However, the exact motive remains under investigation. The body had been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. The victim’s embassy had been notified to contact his relatives.

Compared to the typical method of hanging, one goes unconscious very very quickly with this method, if done correctly, as it cuts off blood flow to the brain, as opposed to a normal hanging that's based on cutting off oxygen. However it takes much longer to die, so if found or interrupted or the cord fails before death one will then be brain damaged for the rest of their life. So it's a trade off between quickly losing consciousness and not suffering, versus a greater risk of not dying and being brain damaged for the rest of one's life.

Also done during sex games, as a few dead rockstars would attest to, if they weren't already dead.

Do a high percentages of suicides strip naked before doing the deed?

Poor bastard probably run out of roubles and thought better to top himself rather than go back to Russia and have to fight in Ukraine. Must be a lot of Mental health issues going on with the Russians? They don't post on teakdoor so I guess we won't know

He could have been saved when the room cleaner went into the room and found him , but she went downstairs and called an ambulance and told them, "Come quick, there's a Grasshopper dying in the wardrobe* and the ambulance just ignored her call
