Pattaya police arrested a Hong Kong man for producing and selling illegal e-cigarettes to tourists, as well as having an illegal firearm.


On December 19th, officers from Pattaya Police Station arrested a 28-year-old Hong Kong national, Mr. Hing Ping Sin. The arrest took place at a hotel in Pattaya following an investigation by Pattaya police.


Mr. Hing was accused of producing and selling e-cigarettes and vaping liquids to Chinese tourists in Pattaya. Police conducted a sting operation to purchase the products from Mr. Hing before making the arrest.

A search of the suspect’s residence uncovered 43 e-cigarette pods, 1,200 empty pods, 30 e-cigarette devices, 900 e-cigarette bases, four bottles of vaping liquid, 968 grams of liquid ingredient powder, three gallons of vaping liquid, a digital scale, an unregistered semi-automatic firearm, and three rounds of .380 caliber ammunition.

Mr. Hing reportedly confessed to producing and selling e-cigarettes mainly to Chinese tourists. He also admitted to illegally carrying a firearm for self-defense during transactions.


Police charged the suspect with smuggling illegal goods and possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition. He is undergoing legal processes.
