The Khao Luang National Park, in Nakhon Si Thammarat’s Phrom Khiri district, has been ordered to close, due to rapid changes in water levels flowing over the park's waterfalls.


The order takes effect today, after the Meteorological Department warned of possible heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslides along the eastern coast of the southern region from tomorrow until Sunday.


The ongoing heavy rainfall has raised water levels and caused sudden changes at Phrom Lok and other waterfalls in the park. Combined with unpredictable weather, this poses a potential danger to visitors.


Residents of Nakhon Si Thammarat, particularly those living near waterways, have been warned of possible flash flooding.
