Danish Man Arrested on Koh Samui for Threatening Locals with Weapons

At 11:00 AM on November 2nd, 2024, Bo Phut police in Koh Samui received complaints from multiple individuals, including a male Myanmar worker, who reported being threatened and menaced with death by a foreign man.

Two more Thai women came forward, claiming they were verbally threatened and had their vehicle attacked by the same man. Witnesses described him holding an air gun in one hand and a machete in the other, shouting at them to “get out” before allegedly shooting at them with the air gun.

Later, while one of the victims was driving a motorcycle on the island’s main road, the foreign man reportedly overtook her, pointing an air gun out of his car window in an intimidating manner, according to the police.
On the same day, hotel staff alerted police to the foreign man’s disorderly behavior at his hotel, where he was seen throwing objects and allegedly brandishing weapons to threaten other guests.

Officers arrived at the hotel to find the suspect, publicly identified as Mr. Asger Ploug Emborg, a 31-year-old Danish national, visibly intoxicated. A search of his room and car revealed an air rifle, two air guns, a samurai sword, an axe, six knives, plastic bullets, and four gas canisters.

Initially, the Danish suspect was arrested on charges of public disturbance and is undergoing psychiatric evaluation and drug testing as police proceed with further legal action.

He did not respond to the accusations but was seen smiling during police interrogation despite the serious charges and seemed confused and disoriented.

the thais hurriedly and stupidly legalise marijuana thereby allowing highly psychoactive genetically modified plants to be produced and sold to an unsuspecting public by more or less unlicensed and unregulated outlets under the control of nefarious underworld figures and are surprised when there is an increase on the streets of machete wielding zomboid nutjobs goons.

if you are going to legalise marijuana at least ensure that some standards of production and potency are enforced.

you may well be right but there are loads of substances legal and illegal available, yabba etc

Unlike shop sold alcohol or licensed medical marihuana sold in Europe the strength is unknown/toxins, quality etc.

Also of concern in cheap Chinese fentanyl and even stonger cocktails being blended with others and sold to "sensation seekers" .

As you know the tried and tested solution ...LOVE IS THE DRUG

Alternatively, he's just bipolar, off his meds and shouldn't drink.

Probably should have had a spliff instead.

I know an old lady whose nephew (who I have met, and who seemed nice enough) just went psychotic after having cannabis. It happened once before, but this time it's really bad (my friend said "really" six times in the one sentence).

He has been involuntarily committed and talks about snakes and devils. Very sad...he is only in his early twenties.

^ Yeah. Bet he will get diagnosed with schizophrenia. Seems that cannabis sets off the symptoms. Not a good combo.

Weed isn't even mentioned, except by tax.

The news story does specifically mention intoxication, presumably meaning drunk on alcohol.

Tax tends to get fixated on pet topics. We may well be reading that Kier Starmer was involved soon.

Note: Edited because willy is such a tireless troll.

You just don’t want to entertain that your beloved marijuana could be a problem, do you?

Let's stick to the story, rather than tax's assorted hobby horses and your love of the moral high road when it suits.

Just to repeat: alcohol is the most harmful drug on the planet by far - fact.

Just to repeat the evidence against marijuana, particularly mentally vulnerable is conclusive.

Aside from being a logical fallacy it’s also not correct. Try opioids, fentanyl, crack as a few examples that may dispute your so called Cryille fact.

Alcohol is, as it is in a very large percentage of the stories we read here about violence and tragedies on roads.

Correct. It may not kill or debilitate as fast as fentanyl or crack, but the point is that is the most harmful commonly used drug on the planet.

Marijuana psychosis is not anywhere as common as, say, violent death due to alcohol...either the affected person or their unfortunate victim.

Many people with odd borderline conditions often self-medicate with alcohol. But never Willy.

I've had a go at it and I would never repeat the experience. Smoked tonnes of pot in my yoof . Smoked opium in Chiang rai liked it but not enough to want to do it daily.
