Doi Inthanon temperature drops to 10°C, tourists flock despite thick fog

The weather in Chiang Mai is getting colder, with temperatures on Doi Inthanon dropping to 10°C in the morning (October 24). Despite thick fog obscuring the sunrise, tourists are still eager to experience the chill.

At Doi Inthanon, located in Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai, the temperature fell by 2 degrees Celsius overnight, reaching a low of 10°C. Tourists bundled up in warm clothing to enjoy the cold winds and admire the moss and lichen covering the trees, making them appear as if wrapped in nature’s blanket. Although the thick fog blocked the sunrise, many visitors expressed joy at feeling the fresh air and capturing the early winter atmosphere.

At the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint, the temperature was slightly warmer at 13°C, with the parking lot fully occupied and hot food and drinks in high demand. Park officials urged visitors to carry their trash back down the mountain to protect the environment. Additionally, they advised tourists to ensure both personal and vehicle readiness before making the trip up the mountain. Motorcyclists with automatic transmissions were particularly cautioned against ascending, as their brakes may overheat on the way down.

8C here in Yorkshire, whats not to like.

autumnal colours with atmospheric mist filtering the hazy sunlight, perfect for this mornings 5km parkrun followed by the obligatory bacon and egg bap and coffee at the end.

do they have parkrun in thailand? probably not, its too hot.

    20 years of Parkrun

Parkrun started back in 2004 when 13 runners, and five volunteers, got together on a blustery day in Bushy Park, Teddington (UK). The brainchild of founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt, for many years it was just that one event.
We’re now an international family of over nine million registered parkrunners (and counting).
