An Uzbek man was arrested at the Phuket International Airport after his passport was found with fake stamps.

The Phuket Immigration at the airport told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (October 23rd) they arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. SAYFULLA, Uzbek national. He arrived at the Phuket International Airport from KUL (Kuala Lumpur International Airport). He presented the UZB passport to immigration officers.

Officers found that previous departure stamps from Thai Immigration at the Suvarnabhumi Airport looked suspicious. They checked in the BIOMETRIC system and they did not find any record of previous departure from Thailand.

His passport was double checked with the APPS system and they found that there was no information of his departure from Thailand before he again arrived in Thailand. The Thai Immigration Bureau has confirmed that the departure stamps by the Thai Immigration on his passport was fake.

He was taken to the Sakoo Police Station to face charges with using fake stamps. The Phuket Express noted that there is no mention of how he entered and left another country before returning to Thailand again with fake departure stamps.

The suspect also did not release any statements or immediately answer questions about the fake stamps.
