Flight instructor dies as his plane crashes into empty house

A single-seat aircraft crashed into an empty house in a golf resort in Samut Sakhon’s Muang district this morning. The pilot died in the accident and the house caught fire.

Firefighters found the wrecked plane stuck in the roof of the empty house, which eventually burned to the ground.

The pilot has been identified as Pudit Supawatanakul, 30, a flight instructor.

An initial investigation has found that Pudit was taking the plane for a test flight, following engine repairs, when he encountered problems.

He was possibly trying to make an emergency landing at a nearby airfield before the plane crashed.

Pudit was the administrator of the Facebook page “Bin Nun, Jer Nee: I’ve been,” which provided information about aircraft and aviation.

Sounds like a fault with the engine, rather than a fault with the pilot.

It could have been a suicide. We'll probably never know.

I rather thought flying a private single engine aircraft serviced by a small airport, Thai mechanic was probably tantamount to suicide.

I hope he did the necessary engine ground runs first following the repairs.

You seem so balanced, that one could suspect, that you scored some pussy out there.

Always good to stay over the airport for a bit after maintenance, or enroute and strange things are going on. Planes glide just fine if you lose power, but you do need a clear space to put it down reasonably.
