A Polish man was arrested after he was found allegedly illegally working by inviting people to join a mental wellness program on the Pha Ngan Island without legal permission.


The Koh Pha Ngan District Chief Mr. Noppadon Khaomali told the Phuket Express that over the past weekend the Tourist Police and Phuket Immigration arrested Mr. Subhadeep, 46, Polish national, at a healing center on the Pha Ngan Island.

Officers were notified that the suspect was holding an activity named ‘Healing Self-Sabotaging Patterns to Manifest Your Heart’s Desires + Transformational Breathwork’ at a price of 900 Baht to 1,200 Baht per person.


Mr. Subhadeep told officers that he has a work permit as a manager of an accommodation company. He told officers that another company had hired him to open a mental training course. The company allegedly gives 70 percent of the revenue to him.

He was taken to the Koh Pha Ngan Police Station to face charges of being a foreigner who has a legal work permit but did not report about his employer and work description to officers within 15 days.

you would think the police have more important things to do on the crime ridden island of koh phangan than prosecute a wannabe guru running a mental health workshop aimed at the ageing hippy neurotics with their beads, their pony tails and their grateful dead cds that have washed up there.
