Disaster area declared as fire ravages paper factory in Samut Sakhon

Fire fighters are still struggling to control the blaze, almost 12 hours after fire broke out at a paper factory in Samut Sakhon.

The factory, which belongs to the Hiang Seng Fibre Container company (Panjapol Fibre Containers), occupies an area of about 4.8 hectares.

The fire started at approximately 9:30 am on Saturday morning (May 4) in a warehouse where compressed paper blocks for recycling are stored.

This evening, Samut Sakhon governor has declared disaster areas in Moo 1 and Moo 4 in Tambon Bankoh.

The cause of the blaze is yet to be confirmed.

On April 30th, fire broke out at another paper factory in Tambon Nakhok in Samut Sakhon province, which took over 15 hours to extinguish.
