Van Driver Captured After Fatal Accident in Ayutthaya: One Dead, Fifteen Injured

At 1:00 PM, on January 3rd, 2024, Ayutthaya police officers captured a van driver at a hotel in Hua Ro Market, Ayutthaya, after the van’s tire exploded and collided with a tree, resulting in one casualty and fifteen injuries.

According to a report by the police, the van driver who was publicly identified only as Mr. Chatchai, 49, reportedly stated that he was heading to Bangkok and Samut Prakan after carrying 15 passengers from Nakhon Phanom.

However, the van lost control at an intersection in the Pratu Chai Subdistrict in Ayutthaya after the tire exploded and collided with a tree at night, said Chatchai to the police.

Chatchai allegedly helped carry the wounded out of the van and called an insurance company, but due to being shocked, he allegedly snuck away from the incident scene and then rented a hotel room, said the police.
Initially, the police took hold of Chatchai for further interrogation and body examination and gathered evidence from the incident scene to determine the exact cause of the incident.
