Foreigner Accused of Public Nuisance After Urinating and Defecating Outside Grocery

On December 8th, 2023, Muang Ubon Ratchathani police received a complaint from a grocery store owner that a foreigner allegedly made a mess in front of their store by urinating and defecating before driving his pickup truck off in Mueang Ubon Ratchathani.

The shop’s CCTV captured the moment when a pickup truck had stopped in front of a grocery store and one of the unidentified foreigners walked somewhere else with a woman while another foreigner stepped out of the vehicle to urinate and defecate in front of the store.

Ms. Chuenjit Suesatdamrongkit, a 40-year-old grocery store owner, stated her reason for filing a complaint to the police officers was that she wanted the suspect, who allegedly made a mess in front of her store, to be aware of his actions.

Chuenjit voiced her opinion that the suspect might not be highly intoxicated as he looked back and front to see if anyone witnessed him urinate. Chuenjit reportedly would like to warn the foreigner about inappropriateness in Thailand.

Initially, Muang Ubon Ratchathani police officers received the CCTV footage and pledged to investigate further to hold the suspect accountable for the Public Health Act.

Parked in the car-park of my local 7-11 last night I watched the owner of a food stall, along with her daughter, go take a piss out in the open. Not a care in the world. Just dropped their knickers and did their business. When finished they both went back to work on their stall. Thais should look to their own before mouthing off about 'inappropriateness behaviour'.

Dirty bastard. He'd have stunk out the pick-up. He better be prepping his excuse before the BIB hunt him down.

The motorsai scum that congregated between Times Sq and Chuvit’s Park in Bkk would piss by the wall at the head of Soi 10 at any time of day. These fuckers would also discard their cigarette butts anywhere on the pavement too despite the street wardens fining tourists 2000 baht for doing the same.

Thai are the worst hypocrites on the planet.

    Shitty people,shitty society, shitty country.

But apropos the report, are they alleging he took a shit too? Taking a piss discreetly by the front tyre behind the door wasn’t that bad if he was in extremis and certainly it was better than the Thai scum who piss anywhere in full view whether by their hovels or on the road.

the "No Idea" pub on sukhumvit 22, it has closed now, was opposite a row of evening food hawkers adjoining a piece of waste ground separated from the pavement by a tall sheet of corrugated iron that had a rudimentary door cut into it.

sitting in the upstairs balcony of the pub one frequently saw the food sellers scurrying through this door to squat down in the waste ground, relieve themselves and then pick grass and leaves to wipe themselves, then quickly return to their duties preparing food to serve the customers at the tables they set up on the pavement.

with no hand washing facilities available one could only imagine the toxic cocktail of bacteria, viruses, and other rectal detritus that was transferred from their hands first to the cutlery and food and then subsequently into the mouths of the unsuspecting diners.

The Vietnamese in HCM would have no qualms about stopping on the side of the road for a tom tit.

Then again they aren't exactly blessed with an abundance of public toilets.

You are seized of a movement precipitated by a a stomach upset then an evacuation is inevitable. But that man took a piss first which suggested he was in control of his bodily functions.

Hepatitis A is endemic in this country and one only requires a tiny speck of faecal matter in order to become infected. The thing is, most Thai will have been infected in their youth and been asymptomatic but once recovered they have a lifetime immunity. Most Westerners do not and infection in adulthood, particularly for the aged, is more virulent. There is no treatment other than abstinence from alcohol and fatty foods, and for most folk full liver function is not recovered until after, say, 3-4 months.

Something to bear in mind when you eat in Thailand, particularly if you haven’t had your full Hep A and B jabs.

The average punter might bear this in mind when they eat off the streets.

Indeed, I used to call the local Mr Whippy ice cream van man "pissy fingers".

He gave up stopping outside my house with his music ringing out.
