The degrees seem much easier to get too, especially for teaching.

^^ And it's something that I'm going to seriously investigate, thanks.
I still have an apartment in Perth, and a few friends, so that would be the obvious choice to give her rent-free accommodation.
My main worry is that she develops an Aussie accent.
^^Ask any honest aussie who has taught in the UK.
Living in Perth for four years at university or, say, Sussex Uni, UK?
Perth is a fucking penal colony.
If you’re a Brit you qualify for a student loan in the UK, repayable once you earn above a threshold and at a modest rate with advantageous interest rates.
Fucking Perth!? Uni is all about expanding horizons, meeting folk from all societies, and enriching an academic experience inspiring one to greater heights. Perth would be a fucking open prison in comparison to a decent UK uni. Go there you might as well do a correspondence course.
I tried twice but drugs, women and alcohol undermined my attempts to till the loam of academe. Still, it was a great experience nevertheless. But Perth, for ffs……
Who cares. It's survival of the fittest. If you are that tosser with silly 10,000 baht sports shoes, a rented car and the latest iphone 14 then enjoy your debt.
It's got nice weather!
I was no big fan of Perth which is why we moved to 'Fucking Korat!', and now Perth doesn't seem so bad after all.
The saving would be enormous compared with the daughter going to a UK university as an overseas student, which is what she would be if we don't return to the UK and reside there ofr three years beforehand. Also I'm not sure she would qualify for a student loan not being a resident of the UK, but I'm not sure.
Post Brexit, I think that the daughter will be better off going the Aussie route rather than the UK. I think the opportunities will be better. All I hear about the UK these days is that it's a shit hole (from your good self, among others). My mother is 87 and we're not a close family so by the time the daughter is old enough for all this, there'll be no real reason for her to head back to the UK. I know I won't be visiting very often in the future.
Looks like I've got 10 years to source an Aussie passport for the kid.
I'm still unmarried if you've got a younger sister BL..... Looper.![]()
