Loan Shark Gang in Pattaya Threatens Reporter

A reporter in Pattaya filed a complaint to police alleging he was threatened by a loan shark gang after he warned them not to litter loan flyers in front of his residence.

Mr. Buronsak Bunnodyom, a 46-year-old Thai local news reporter in Pattaya, who has provided freelance news to The Pattaya News previously, reported the incident to Pattaya Police yesterday, May 30th, stating he was threatened by members of a loan shark gang within Soi 9 in Central Pattaya, Banglamung District, Chonburi province.

He said the incident happened in the morning of May 29th. While he was parking his vehicle in front of his residence, he noticed two young men on a black Honda Wave motorcycle entering the alley and starting throwing loan flyers in front of every house they passed within the alley.

While they were approaching Mr. Buronsak’s house, the reporter said he shouted to them that he didn’t want them littering the flyers in front of his house. The two men then yelled back at Mr. Buronsak using vulgar language and flipped him off before parking their motorbike and marching towards him.

Concerned for his safety, Mr. Buronsak grabbed his mobile phone to record the two loan shark men who were insulting and threatening him to mind his own business.

The two also picked up a large rock and threatened to harm Mr. Buronsak, causing him to stop recording and retreat from the scene. Meanwhile, the loan shark men then mounted their vehicle and continued distributing flyers seemingly without fear of law enforcement authorities and the law, the reporter stated.

Mr. Buronsak stated that their behavior was highly detrimental to the tourism industry of Pattaya. He urged the police to take serious action against them.

Loan sharks working without apparent fear of the law? I wonder why.

No cigar for guessing the answer.

Shitty people, shitty society, shitty country

Members of Loan Shark Gang Surrender to Police After Threatening Pattaya Reporter

Two members of a loan shark gang in Pattaya turned themselves in to police yesterday, June 1st, after threatening to harm a freelance reporter early this week.

A local Thai reporter, Mr. Buronsak Bunnodyom, reported to the police that two men on a motorbike threatened to attack him after he politely warned them not to litter loan flyers in front of his residence in Soi 9, Central Pattaya, Banglamung District, Chonburi province.

Following the report, the accused men, namely Mr. Chinnawat Posingarm, 23, and Mr. Natthiwut Sudprasert, 20, surrendered to police yesterday, June 1st.

Mr. Chinnawat admitted that he was the person who littered loan flyers in front of people’s houses, while Mr. Natthiwut confessed to riding a motorbike for Mr. Chinnawat. They both were captured on the footage of the reporter as they verbally assaulted and attempted to attack him with a large rock.

As for the motive, they said they were peeved at the reporter for warning them not to distribute flyers. They added that it was merely a fleeting thought when they picked up a rock to attack the reporter.

Mr. Chinnawat and Mr. Natthiwut said they apologized for their excessive actions.

The two were charged for threatening other people and violating the Cleanliness Act.
