Not a teacher or a student but clear loss of classroom time over the last couple of years has a detremental affect on student learning worldwide.

Not particularly, your lack of understanding is not my concern.

The school picked a good week to cancel. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are religious long holidays, some of them dry as well.

You can say that again. I have noticed it quite a bit this year. I think it is very hard for younger children to learn from home. However, I know of some middle to high school students that prefer it and seem to do better on online learning. There will always be drawbacks to online teaching, but there are some pluses. In the short term, I think online learning is alright if needed, but better students learn in person ime.

I am hoping for a year of no online learning, it really is not ideal for the grade I teach. Plus there is the whole social side to staying locked away at home, it sucks.

Yeah, there seems little sense in moving when I enjoy the location and job for the majority of the time. Plus they give decent raises well above inflation
