    Your alternative fuel is what?

Nuclear - Chernobyl, Fukushima Daiichi - regional century long environmental disasters,
    Gas - Secure supply, CO2
Oil - peaking resource?, Secure supply, water consumption ( tar sands), water pollution (Fracking), CO2
Hydro power - resource limitations, environmental
    Wind - resource limitations
Solar - precious metals, resource limitations, environmental
    Biomass - Food into energy , CO2
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.

The obvious logical alternative is to burn Chinese people for fuel.

Egat threatens to move coal plants to Laos

I think egat will have some opposition to this , Laos has its own coal reserves and an abundace of hydro power that gets sold to Thailand More hydro dams are planned allowing the Thais to mine and run coal fired plants would surely be shooting themselves in the foot, Laos also has its share of staunch whinging greenies who already oppose coal fired power stations and more hydro dams , but the fact remains they make money and employ people who wouldnt otherwise have a job

Correct but substantially less CO2, also less general pollution than coal as it burns cleanly. But secure supply? Maybe at present level of consumption for a while. But will run out fast, if everybody switches from coal to Gas.

If used as it is today, yes food into energy. May help reduce world population.

But claimed carbon neutral. Which is probably not true because at least in modern industrialized agriculture much oil goes into fertilizer, pesticides and farm machines. Maybe sometimes more oil going into it than energy harvested in the field.

May be a product for the future though, if non arable land can be utilized for non food biomass and no fertilizer/pesticide input.
