Hailstorms, Heavy Rain & Cold Weather For The North & Northeast

Weathermen are warning that storms are likely to bring heavy rain and hail to upper Thailand early next week along with falling temperatures.

On Friday, Nathapol Nathasomboon, director-general of the Meteorological Department, said the forecast was for thunder and hailstorms in the North and the Northeast from Sunday to Tuesday. Temperatures would afterwards drop by 4-6°C .

Thunderstorms would start in the North on Sunday and in the Northeast, the Central Plains and the East on Monday.

The weather conditions were brought by westerly winds passing through the North and the upper Northeast, while southerly and southeasterly winds would bring humidity from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea to the lower Northeast, the Central Plains and the East, Mr Nathasomboon said.

Would be nice to pickup a bit of rain. When the rainy season finished here in Pua four months ago the tap was tightly turned off. Since then all we have had was some surprising and unforecast showers at 4-5:30am a few days back. The nearby mountains are still sending water out in the rivers but lowest I've seen since we moved here three years back. This area is somewhat blessed in terms of water security.
