Timeline of the strangely politicised hydroxychloroquine saga:
Whether this is a huge gamble or not I don't know.
AstraZeneca ups coronavirus vaccine capacity to 2 billion doses - CNNLondon (CNN Business)AstraZeneca says it has secured capacity to produce 2 billion doses of a potential coronavirus vaccine being developed in partnership with researchers at Oxford University.
The new production figure includes 400 million doses that will be provided to low and middle-income countries before the end of this year.
The UK-based pharmaceutical company announced Thursday that it had signed two additional deals involving the vaccine, which is currently being tested in about 10,000 adult volunteers in Britain.
AstraZeneca (AZN) has agreed a $750 million deal to produce 300 million doses with international foundations the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and Gavi the Vaccine Alliance.
A second agreement, with Serum Institute of India, will allow the leading vaccine manufacturer to make 1 billion doses for poorer countries, with 40% of those to arrive by the end of 2020.
The World Health Organization on June 5 changed its advice on face masks amid the coronavirus pandemic, saying they should be worn in places where the virus is widespread and physical distancing is difficult.
The use of masks has been a hot topic ever since the pandemic first emerged in China in December.
"In light of evolving evidence, WHO advises that governments should encourage the general public to wear masks where there is widespread transmission and physical distancing is difficult," said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Does this also apply to people who aren't 'mongs'?
What might be more interesting to examine are the deeper researched [and current studies] and extended hypothesis regarding the ever mutating strains of this COVID bug that changed form quickly from Asia to Europe and then from Europe to North America......and then again jumping to broader Latin America.
It's being suggested that the new changing forms are cycling back, respectively, throughout the world - the so called second, third, and even fourth waves.
Granted, it's obvious as to the greater and comparative infection/death rates by regions - how each one prepared for and handled the situations....
It's also been suggested that particular human genetics and physiological patterns differ as such applies to this highly contagious, yet seemingly moderate pathogen.
All the while, COVID-19 is still a mystery - as the experts are still learning and discovering a variety of different twists regarding this novel virus.
Yet, they can't be certain as to ascertaining and developing any sort of universal vaccine cure-all when they have yet to fully comprehend the patterns and changing activity of this virus.
Ignorance seems to be an easy and acceptable substitute for what passes as reasoned intelligence.
Funny how important that is to you when it's the East responsible for this.
If it had originated in the west you'd have your hatred of white people revving up and 'cycling back' like crazy (whatever the fuck that means).
Why wait until 15 June? Enforce this now, already several months too late.
I also think everyone entering the country should be quarantined for 2 weeks. It will restrict arrivals to UK residents and should have been enforced in March.
The UK is easing restrictions too soon. Forget schools until at least September and the start of the next school year.
And did we see lots of discussion about those on the internet?
Eh?
No we did not!
Twat.
^ How did I know you'd be along?
Yes, so now we know just how much BoJo's party will sacrifice for the sake of pretending to have handled the whole thing as well as, say, Germany.
They will actually sacrifice the lives of the people they were elected to govern in order to disguise their incompetence.
Only if you posted it.
Most of the major pandemics since 1900 have originated in Chinastan or other parts of Asia.
That includes the Spanish Flu now that historians have found that it was active in China before migrating Chinese labourers spread it around the world.

Wuhan Virus (SARS-COV2)
The only exceptions are the 6th Cholera pandemic (India) and HIV/AIDS (Africa).
I believe it's to allow shops to build a supply of the type of masks that are suitable for public use but not good enough for the confines of a hospital ward full of infected patients (N95 et al).
No doubt the chinkies are already rubbing their grubby little hands with glee at the opportunity to flog a few more million pieces of dodgy crap.
You need to open your eyes more. I believe there are even helpful things called, "internet search engines" which with perseverance reveal facts.
If I had posted it there would be sources. Unlike your allegations.

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil removed from public view months of data on its COVID-19 epidemic on Saturday, as President Jair Bolsonaro defended delays and changes to official record-keeping of the world’s second-largest coronavirus outbreak.
Brazil’s Health Ministry removed the data from a website that had documented the epidemic over time and by state and municipality. The ministry also stopped giving a total count of confirmed cases, which have shot past 672,000 – more than anywhere outside the United States – or a total death toll, which passed Italy this week, nearing 36,000 by Saturday.
“The cumulative data ... does not reflect the moment the country is in,” Bolsonaro said on Twitter, citing a note from the ministry. “Other actions are underway to improve the reporting of cases and confirmation of diagnoses.”
We've all got it easy with this COVID issue, spare a thought for the DRC in Africa
Race against the clock': How the Covid-19 pandemic threatens to undermine DRC's response to latest Ebola outbreak
Democratic Republic of Congo facing ‘perfect storm’ of health crises, with authorities attempting to contain coronavirus pandemic, largest measles outbreak in the world and now two Ebola epidemics
Disruption from the Covid-19 pandemic is set to hinder and delay the Democratic Republic of Congo’s response to its new Ebola outbreak, humanitarian groups have warned, with authorities facing a “race against the clock” to contain the country’s latest epidemic.
The ministry of health declared a new Ebola outbreak in the western city of Mbandaka on Monday – DRC’s 11th since the virus was first discovered in 1976 – reporting four deaths and two infections.
Mbandaka, a trading hub of 1.5 million people on the Congo River, is 620 miles from an ongoing outbreak that has killed over 2,200 people in North Kivu province by the Ugandan border, where containment efforts have been hampered by armed conflict.
This latest outbreak adds to what the Red Cross has called a “perfect storm” of crises, with the country’s limited health services already struggling to combat Covid-19, which has infected more than 3,000 people and left 71 dead, and the world’s largest measles epidemic, which has killed more than 6,000 to date.
Authorities have noted that the eastern epidemic in North Kivu, which has been raging since early 2018, began only one week after an initial outbreak in Mbandaka, which, as a major transport and commercial centre, has the potential to once again spread the disease beyond the city.
A fast and efficient containment programme is crucial for suppressing this outbreak, and health workers from the government, the World Health Organisation and Unicef have already kickstarted Mbandaka’s Ebola response, with 20 more experts from the three bodies due to be flown in to the city this week.
However, disruption from coronavirus restrictions is set to complicate procedures and the time frame in which authorities react. “Covid-19 has a far-reaching and very serious impact,” Robert Ghosn, head of emergency operations in DRC for the Red Cross, told The Independent. “In countries as fragile as DRC, the impact is magnified.”
Under the pandemic regulations, specific government authorisation is required to travel to Mbandaka, and already Unicef has reported delays in transferring additional staff to the city.

The CDC utilises a number of phrases, when stating the "origins" of pandemics.
They have utilised, "First Identified" 1918, "First Reported" 1957 and "First Noted" 1968.
HtG now utilises another, "Which Originated" 2020.
CDC has yet to publish their "origin", for the current pandemic.
1918 Pandemic (H1N1 virus)
In the United States, it was first identified in military personnel in spring 1918.

1957-1958 Pandemic (H2N2 virus)
It was first reported in Singapore in February 1957, Hong Kong in April 1957, and in coastal cities in the United States in summer 1957.

1968 Pandemic (H3N2 virus)
