covid-2019 has not yet been declared a PANDEMIC !

This man is a joke (Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus) and should be fired immediately.
Notice how I stripped him from his Doctor title.

Australian man tasered in toilet paper scrap

SYDNEY: A fight over toilet rolls ended with a man being tasered, Australian police said Thursday (Mar 5), as coronavirus concerns drive panic buying.
Police were called to a store in the New South Wales town of Tamworth after the man allegedly lashed out and attacked another customer and a worker.
The New South Wales police said in a statement that the 50-year-old man first visited a department store along Bridge Street in Tamworth.

Didn't some Aussie write here on TD that Australia is about to save the world because they have found a cure against the virus.
Well, I think they are full of shit and require a lot of toilet paper right now.

PWC have an interesting way of drumming up business....

There are alarming projections about that human toll from the coronavirus with one warning that as many as 39 million people could die in a pandemic.
The dire outlook from the advisory firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers warns half the world's population could contract the deadly disease over the next year.
PWC says a US$1 trillion could be carved from the global economy and $34 billion in Australia where the government's forecast surplus could swing into a heavy deficit not seen since the global financial crisis.

Fucking hell, the chinkies bless 'em....

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Amid China's intensive propaganda campaign to reverse global perceptions of the Wuhan coronavirus epidemic in that country, Chinese state media Xinhua News Agency is taking the gambit to exhilarating new heights, suggesting the "United States owes China an apology," and that the world ought to acknowledge China for its remarkable achievements in its fight against the novel pneumonia.
"The world should thank China for its gargantuan efforts and sacrifices to prevent the spread of the disease to other countries, an act that is really startling the universe and moving the gods (驚天地、泣鬼神)," the commentary reads.

Germany added 87 cases today, so our resident squareheads will be sweating.

That moved its total cases ahead of the nips.

Oh, and Thailand has another 4.

    ^ Bugger.

Same happened us in Australia around Aug/Sep 2001.

There's gonna be a glut of Chinese owned condos and hotels priced to sell round here in 3-6 months time, unless there's some magic turnaround.

Chinese restaurants and supermarkets are taking a massive hit at the moment here, nobody wants to risk it.

The dirty plague spreading selfish fookers have finally shot themselves in the foot.

China will take a generation to recover from this, but who gives a fvck.

The new 007 movie premier has been put back now!!!!

The release of the new James Bond film has been put back by seven months as coronavirus continues to spread.
The producers said they had moved the release of No Time To Die from April to November after "careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace".
The announcement comes days after the founders of two 007 fan sites called on the film studios to delay its release.
It will now come out in the UK on 12 November, and in the US on 25 November.
No Time To Die, which is due to be Daniel Craig's final appearance as the British secret service agent, had been due for release on 3 April.

Two of Crufts' major sponsors have asked their staff not to attend the dog show amid fears over coronavirus.
Royal Canin UK and James Wellbeloved said their representatives should stay away from large events like Crufts "unless it is business critical".
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) has also decided not to go.
Crufts organisers the Kennel Club said the event in Birmingham will go ahead, with "enhanced measures" to protect people.
The annual dog show at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) attracts competitors and visitors from all over the world - last year there were 160,000 visitors.
Out of almost 21,000 competing dogs to attend last year, 3,611 were from overseas.
Italy - where some 2,706 people are infected with the virus and 107 have died- led the way for last year's foreign entries with 413.
The Kennel Club, said in a statement, that the measures introduced would include hand sanitiser stations at entrances, additional signage, and hand sanitiser in toilets and catering areas.
They added that Public Health England had not advised them to cancel the event, but said they were ensuring all exhibitors were "aware of current travel restrictions and guidelines".

The UK has seen its biggest day-on-day increase in coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 87.
Almost all of the 36 new patients had recently travelled to affected countries or been infected by others who had done so, the UK's chief medical adviser Prof Chris Whitty said.
But it is not clear how three new patients in England caught the virus.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that two patients at King's College Hospital have been diagnosed with the virus.
A family member of an elderly patient at the south London hospital told the BBC one of those who was infected had been staying in the same room as his relative prior to being diagnosed.
The hospital said it had restricted access for staff and visitors to the affected ward, and was tracing those who may have come into contact with the infected patients.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 87 cases have been confirmed in the UK. There are 80 in England, three in Scotland, one in Wales and three in Northern Ireland.

Oh yes, it is strange that the UK and Germany should both have 87 cases each....

Seem to be two rumors doing the rounds in UB.

    1. Work is now off until April 15th
    2. We will in fact be back on March 15th, which I sincerely hope is the truth.

Apparently there are also over 400 people in quarantine. Turns out there is a large community of Mongolians in Wuhan, who just got repatriated last week.

United Airlines to reduce U.S. flights due to coronavirus outbreak

United Airlines will reduce flights, freeze hiring and ask employees to volunteer for unpaid leave as the airline struggles with weak demand for travel because of the coronavirus outbreak.

United said Wednesday that, starting in April, it will reduce passenger-carrying capacity 20% on international routes and 10% in the U.S. — the first airline to cut domestic flying. United officials said they will temporarily ground an unspecified number of planes.

The moves by United are the clearest sign yet of the financial harm to U.S. airlines from the virus, which has already led them to suspend flights to China and reduce service to other countries.
