Tehran (ISNA) - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has denounced the US government’s expression of readiness for assisting Iran in the fight against the novel coronavirus as a ridiculous and hypocritical move and part of a political and psychological game.

    • WHO confirmed that a dog in Hong Kong has tested “weakly positive” for COVID-19.
    • Hong Kong scientists aren’t sure if the dog is actually infected or if it picked up the virus from a contaminated surface.

8:43 am: Trump says the coronavirus is the Democrats’ ‘new hoax’

President Donald Trump said Democrats are using the virulent coronavirus as a “hoax” to damage him and his administration.
“The Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” he said from a campaign rally in North Charleston, South Carolina.
“One of my people came up to me and said ‘Mr. President they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.
That didn’t work out too well.’
    They couldn’t do it.
They tried the impeachment hoax that was on a perfect conversation,” he continued.
“This is their new hoax,” he said, referring to the coronavirus. —Franck

the 250,000 death in China is actually more credible statistically than the current 2,900

a normal flu would have 25,000 death already in a country with China population size

that thing is far more contagious than normal flu, so 250,000 death is perfectly acceptable statistically

Then all those senile Fox News wankers that vote for him won't take it seriously and will die.

    From the BBC site:

Obviously, the BBC is a propaganda machine, so you'd usually take this with a pinch of salt - can the deaths be 15x higher than Korea, considering location, when the outbreak occurred that the Korean church were mingling with Chinese from Wuhan in December (presumably quite close to the start of the virus?).

    Are you joking?

The fuckers snog each other far more than the Sunni do.

And they attend mosques en masse.

Since they kept it quiet when the chinkies first brought it into town, that number almost seems surprisingly low to me.

ERBIL — An Iranian official died of coronavirus just days after he was elected member of parliament, local media reports reported on Saturday.
Mohammed Ali Ramezani won parliamentary election Astana, northern province of Gilan last week.
He was hospitalized after medical examinations confirmed he was infected with coronavirus.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for stronger efforts to guard against coronavirus and warned of ‘serious consequences’ if the deadly bug spreads to the country. During a meeting of the ruling party, Kim demanded the anti-epidemic headquarters strengthen screening and tests to seal off all ‘channels and space through which the infectious disease may find its way’, Pyongyang’s official Korean Central News Agency said Saturday. He emphasised that quarantine instructions must be obeyed ‘unconditionally’ and called for the strict enforcement of preventative measures against what he described as a tricky virus that spreads rapidly. The agency quoted Kim telling the politburo meeting of the Workers’ Party: ‘In case the infectious disease spreading beyond control finds its way into our country, it will entail serious consequences.’

Yeah, maybe; doesn't bode well for the ME generally then, and the real Chinese numbers are probably through the roof...

I hope the Democrats have the good sense to get their message across clearly.

Actions like this from baldy orange cunto is what has put the US at risk.

Two more cases in Washington State today, one from an unknown source.

In May 2018, Trump ordered the NSC’s entire global health security unit shut down, calling for reassignment of Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer and dissolution of his team inside the agency. The month before, then-White House National Security Advisor John Bolton pressured Ziemer’s DHS counterpart, Tom Bossert, to resign along with his team. Neither the NSC nor DHS epidemic teams have been replaced. The global health section of the CDC was so drastically cut in 2018 that much of its staff was laid off and the number of countries it was working in was reduced from 49 to merely 10. Meanwhile, throughout 2018, the U.S. Agency for International Development and its director, Mark Green, came repeatedly under fire from both the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. And though Congress has so far managed to block Trump administration plans to cut the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps by 40 percent, the disease-fighting cadres have steadily eroded as retiring officers go unreplaced.

Public health advocates have been ringing alarm bells to no avail.

Klain has been warning for two years that the United States was in grave danger should a pandemic emerge. In 2017 and 2018, the philanthropist billionaire Bill Gates met repeatedly with Bolton and his predecessor, H.R. McMaster, warning that ongoing cuts to the global health disease infrastructure would render the United States vulnerable to, as he put it, the “significant probability of a large and lethal modern-day pandemic occurring in our lifetimes.” And an independent, bipartisan panel formed by the Center for Strategic and International Studies concluded that lack of preparedness was so acute in the Trump administration that the “United States must either pay now and gain protection and security or wait for the next epidemic and pay a much greater price in human and economic costs.”

The Italian city of Lodi in Lombardy saw more than 50 people hospitalised with coronavirus in a single night with 17 cases deemed to be especially serious.
The new hospitalisations were announced by populist Lombardy president Attilio Fontana, a member of Matteo Salvini’s League, who said that 51 people had been taken into hospital with serious cases of the coronavirus and 17 placed in intensive care, Il Giornale reports.
According to Fontana, the hospital in Lodi does not have the capacity to hospitalise all of the people in its intensive care ward and so several people were transferred to other hospitals in the region.
The cases place the number of infected in Lombardy to over 400. The Italian total has been reported as being at least 650.
According to the Lombardy government, “Today in Lombardy there are 406 positive cases of coronavirus, of which 216 hospitalised. More than half are asymptomatic, are at home and are well.”

South Korea reported 813 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday in what the vice health minister called a "critical moment" in the country's battle against the virus.
The new figures bring South Korea's infected total up to 3,150 — the highest number outside of China, where the virus started.
"We have asked you to refrain from taking part in public events, including a religious gathering or protest, this weekend," vice health minister Kim Kang-lip told a briefing, according to Reuters.
"Please stay at home and refrain from going outside and minimize contact with other people," he added.

GF in hospital in Ubon today, and there was a mad panic there, seems they had a case of coronavirus admitted to ward in isolation.

would of thought they'd keep them away from public wards.
