I rented a room in soi 6 in 1990 - 1991. There were only two bars on the soi at that time. The original Bull Ring and King Kong. The room I rented was directly above the Bull Ring. The rest of the soi was restaurants, travel agents, furniture shops etc. Nothing like it is today.

I must applaud the Pattaya constabulary. I walked down Soi 6 on Thursday night and did not see any ladies of the night. They've certainly increased the moral standing of that soi. Now quite suitable for the whole family.

^Tahitian Queen opened in 1978, and was the first gogo bar. Thst was way before I set-up camp in Pattaya in the 90's, by which time there was about 45 or 50 gogo's. Pattayaland 2 was where the fun was then, but there were good gogo bars on Walking St too.

From memory The Nevada Bar opened soon after along with Far East Rock following.

I remember Beach Rd being predominately bamboo huts selling mostly Singha Beer.

The first farang brewed Beer sold here and from memory was Kloster Beer.

I was here in '88, so was WS where I had my first innocent encounter with two stunning ladies of the afternoon that turned out to be something else.

As I recall, £ was 45, $ 30-32, 200 bt covered the bar fine and the girl (lt), 300 in agogos, while property prices were also a bit lower.
