Surin industrialists propose converting old mines into tourist attraction

SURIN, 7th May 2018 (NNT) – Members of the private sector in Surin province are proposing a 100 million baht mineral mine rehabilitation and development project to the visiting Cabinet members, seeking to convert old mines into a reservoir and tourist attraction.

President of Surin’s Industrial Council Prayut Khieowhan explained today that an area at the base of Khao Panom Sawai in Prasat district of Surin is riddled with about 12 manmade wells left over from past mining activities. The wells are in an 860 rai area, which the council believes can be redeveloped for a new purpose with a budget of 100 million baht.

A plan is to be presented to the Cabinet retreat taking place this May 8.

The plan is to detail a concrete road, electrical systems, solar powered water pumps and connections between the 12 wells so that they form a 44 million cubic meter reservoir, which could benefit up to 1,590 rai of farmland as well as help in dealing with floods and drought. It is also believed the area could be turned into a tourist attraction and enhance local revenue and quality of life.

Nothing better than irrigating your land with water pumped from mines, with the associated toxic heavy metals, etc.

    Fucking thickos.

1590 Rai is only an area of about 1.6 kms x 1.6km not really large in real terms. A large Chachensao type rice field. Investment is only 40 baht per rai. It will all hinge on who belongs to what?

Although it would make a nice industrial site with its own underground water supply.

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

Do you think they'll bother checking?

They stored water in tin mines in Phuket.

Obsession with attracting tourists as a base for existence...
    Why?

It's the generated ideal of tourism that is fucking the place over.

I am sure they already have a reservoir there. Last time I saw it, some locals were swimming in it and playing on their lorry inner tubes. The water looked filthy to me!

One of the few occasions where there may welcome an expert in Minecraft.
I'm alas fully occupied with Grand Theft Farto, when I was at teh Cornwall School of Mines they were innovating a groundbreaking (no pun intended) Hot Rock Projecst, former Stannary expertise was used basically to drill a v deep hole send lukewarm down and get hot water back.

    https://api.parliament.uk/historic-h...oject-cornwall
It's been revived tho the sudden hike in tin prices may ead S Crofty to reopen for ore.

Cornish ?hot rocks? power plant could be UK first

The project has been moot since the 1970s when local tin became increasingly untenable.

The geological survey I have of Thailand is not accurate enough to indicate whether energy extraction is remotely feasible, my main consultant is currently burrowing back from S Sudan via Gaza, Terminal 21, Thermae etc.

I'm sure some enterprising digger and Sino Slyamese can invent a Fee Ability plan use some Wall loon boiler room to flog it on the underground market.

I think Esaan Holes are already booked by our Sponsor

How about Shafting Surin , or Hang Lower?
Russia went from being 2nd strongest army in the world to being the 2nd strongest in Ukraine
