A British tourist is in a serious condition following a motorbike accident in Hua Hin with his family desperately trying to raise funds online to get him essential medial treatment.

Mark Haley, 55, from Borehamwood, was hit from behind by a car as he was riding a motorbike on Friday in the popular resort town.

According to the GoFundMe page he suffered a fractured spine, fractured pelvis, broken ribs, and a collapsed right lung. He is currently in ICU in an induced coma on a ventilator.

Due to the Brit not taking out insurance for the trip his family are now trying to raise 2 million baht (£50,000) to cover costs including a 200,000 baht (£4,500) helicopter transfer to a hospital in Bangkok claiming the poor condition of roads in Thailand and the severity of his injuries means he cannot make the journey by ambulance.
An update on Saturday stated Mr Haley remains in stable, but critical condition with medical bills stacking up with an overnight stay in hospital coming to 400,000 baht (£9,000).
