BANGKOK, 20 February 2018 (NNT) – Thailand Post has planned to add 1,000 more drop-off points for package delivery in support of a growing e-commerce system.
Thailand Post's Vice President for Customer Relations Wiboon Sereechaiporn said the firm has planned to open more drop-off points to better serve online merchants who may pre-register their package delivery, allowing them to drop off the package instantly in all areas.
The service is part of the D-Post and D-Package services for e-commerce businesses which deliver the package within a few days for the Greater Bangkok area, and two to five days for cross-country shipping. The services come with Collect on Delivery (COD) payment, with the maximum weight allowance of 20 kilograms.
Thailand Post has improved its operations and become a hub for shipments for e-commerce services. The firm currently operates 400 drop-off points where shops and firms can drop their packages off for delivery.
The Electronic Transactions Development Agency expects e-commerce in Thailand to reach a record three trillion baht in gross value.
