PHUKET, 15th February 2018 (NNT) – The southern province of Phuket is playing host to the Regional OTOP Fair from today until February 21, offering shoppers a variety of products from all over the country.
Ahead of its launch in Phuket, Deputy Director-General of the Community Development Department, Somwang Phuangbangpho stated that the ongoing Regional OTOP Fair is a project that encourages people in each region of the country to make use of their local wisdom to create profitable products and generate income for their community. As Phuket is a popular tourist destination, he noted that the fair presents a great opportunity to promote local OTOP products among international visitors.
The week-long Regional OTOP Fair in Phuket is being held by the Community Development Department, Ministry of the Interior, at Saphan Hin Center Stage between February 15 and 21. The event features more than 300 booths displaying OTOP products from across the country, ranging from food and beverages to clothing, home decorations, souvenirs and herbal products.
In addition, there are also entertainment activities as well as demonstrations on the making of various OTOP products, such as celadon stoneware of Chiang Mai, ostrich leather goods of Nakhon Sawan and shrimp chili paste of Phuket.
