No drones allowed within 19-km radius of Love and Warmth by Winter's End venue

BANGKOK, 13 February 2018 (NNT) – Members of the public are being urged to comply with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand's prohibition on drones which might otherwise fly within a 19-kilometers radius of a current venue in Bangkok.

“Love and Warmth by Winter’s End” coordinator Pol Lt Col Kriangsak Teeerasaranyanon said the prohibition is now in place on any unauthorized unmanned aerial vehicle or drone within the 19-kilometer radius of the venue at Royal Plaza and Suea Pa Garden until 12 March 2018.

Only pre-authorized drones are allowed to fly and capture aerial images over the event. Alleged violations of the ban will result in a maximum of one year in prison or a maximum of 40,000 baht in fine, or both. Security officials are also authorized to destroy any unauthorized drones from the ground.

The general public who wish to register their drones may fly them within the given areas. More information is available by calling 02 126 6231.

Can you fly your kite? What about a helium balloon? Just asking as I know it's not just Thailand that has strict drone laws. In Paris drones are banned completely.
