Three Brits appealing for help after Thai hostel exploded

Doesn't mummy know she can Western Union them some money?

    And as for:

We just want to go home and start to rebuild our lives.
After hearing that, I wouldn't give the fucking pussies a 1 baht coin.

    Wankers.

Three Brits appealing for help after Thai hostel exploded and destroyed their belongings Georgia DiebeliusSaturday 10 Feb 2018 1:58 pm

A British man is appealing for help after his hostel blew up – trapping him and two friends in Thailand without passports or cash. Daniel Norman from Norton, and his friends Daniel Hamlett and Patrick O’Donovan had checked into the venue on Koh Phi Phi Island just four hours before the disaster.

After spending night on the beach, the 26-year-old returned to discover the October Hostel had been destroyed in a gas fireball. Without money, passports or clothes, the three men have now set up a gofundme page to help them get back to China where they are teaching. A statement on the page by the three men said: ‘Around four hours sat on the beach, debating where the fire was.

‘It wasn’t until we walked back to collect our items when we realised the hostel we were staying in was the starting point of the blaze. ‘Many people injured, buildings destroyed, people’s livelihoods ruined.

‘We all lost our passports in the blaze, as well as numerous gadgets including MacBooks, earphones, hard drives with a life’s work on it, as well as clothes, accessories, shoes, cash and much more. ‘We estimate between the three of us, we’ve lost around £6,000 in value of personal belongings that night. ‘With our passports being destroyed, we also have to find our way back to China, which requires new passports, new visas, brand new plane tickets at the most expensive time of the year to return to China, Chinese New Year.’ Speaking to The Gazette, Mr Norman’s mother, Susan Norman, said the men have been forced to make a 14-hour journey to Bangkok so that the British Embassy can reissue their passports. She said she had spoken to her son on Thursday and was concerned for his well-being.

The men said they have worn the same clothes for three days and are struggling to pay for accommodation in Bangkok. They added: ‘With the added expense of the British Embassy, who offered us no financial support – and a £100 charge each – a huge dent has been put not only into our very limited cash supply, but also our will to stay positive. ‘Feeling close to rock bottom, we just want to see an end to this nightmare and anything can aid towards this will be eternally gratified. ‘We are so lucky just to be alive, since 20 minutes difference could have made this unimaginably worse.’

Local media reports say nine people were injured – six foreigners and two locals. Officials suspect the fire was caused by an exploding cooking gas tank, it was reported.

The men added: ‘We are not asking for much, if anything at all. ‘If anyone would please like to help out in any way possible, any sort of donation that could help put money towards a flight ticket, a roof over our head, food or clothes, we would so greatly appreciate it. ‘We did not want to ask for this, but in the past three days we have gone through hell and survived. ‘Although at the moment we are lucky to be alive, lucky is probably the furthest from how we feel. ‘Thanks in advance for your donation, however small – it will help! We just want to go home and start to rebuild our lives.’

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of sympathetic comments after reading about their plight.
Teflers will tick them off though, that's teachers for you.

The difference between an ordeal and an adventure is your attitude. ^ They have the attitude of wimps and losers.

Teflers in China. From the level of whining, almost certainly friends of ThailandBound/PhuketBound/BeNiceToMe/Etc.

They left £6000 of stuff at a hostel in Phi Phi?

Gives a clue as to how much they are hoping for from this crowdfunding game

One should plan for any eventuality. A few 1,000 BHT notes in your sock, a condom or two, a credit card. Let's hope their digital tokens weren't on the hard drive.

Isn't one required to carry one's passport in Thailand. One hopes they are not teaching law in China.

All that western education but can't find their way home without ma and pa helping out.

Come on guys chip in for a one way bus ticket for them.

Maybe halelujah's mummy can send them some of their favourite chocolate bars and some monster munch.

Why is such a random and trivial item worthy as news?

Consider the source in which is what promoted.

Oh, that Charlie. Another waster. Lock him up.

On a side note, it's very sad to see that his keyboard is lacking in commas and full stops. Stolen, likely.

Charlie needs to market himself better to reach the $800.

A chang in one hand and surrounded by go go dancers would of been the better pic option.

You must be a scrounging snowflake as well then.

I look forward to your pleas for help "rebuilding your life" the next time something insignificant to most adults happens.
