UDON THANI, 4th February 2018 (NNT) - Various agencies in Udon Thani province are preparing to hold their annual festival celebrating the 52th anniversary of the discovery of Ban Chiang Archaeological Site.
Governor Watana Puttichat and representatives of the public and private sectors jointly held a press conference on the annual Ban Chiang world heritage festival, which is scheduled to take place from 8th to 11th February at the Ban Chiang heritage site in Nong Han district.
The prehistoric settlement was discovered in 1966 and became the country’s fourth UNESCO world heritage site in 1992. Governor Watana described Ban Chiang as a legacy that the people of Udon Thani cherish and are proud of.
The opening ceremony will be held on 9th February, with highlights being a cultural parade, multimedia shows and a traditional dinner party.
