Thailand Post to compensate lost diamond ring from postal package

BANGKOK, 28th January 2018 (NNT) – Thailand Post will offer a reasonable compensation for the missing diamond ring in the package delivered by the company and to launch investigation into the case.

Thailand Post's President Smorn Terdthumpiboon said regarding a complaint made by a customer following a missing diamond ring from the postal package while being delivered by Thailand Post.

She has said initial investigation showed the package, which contained a diamond ring, was delivered by the company's EMS express mail service from a sender in Petchaburi to a recipient in Surat Thani on January 19th, 2018. The recipient found traces of cuts on the package with the diamond ring gone missing.

The case has been filed with the police by the recipient, while the postal manager in Surat Thani has met with the recipient to gather information, said Thailand Post president. The company is willing to work with the police to find responsible person and pursue legal punishments, and will be offering compensation to the recipient according to the company's policy.

Thailand Post chief added that the company has urged all related agencies to closely monitor the work of their employees to enhance services to be up to the set standard, in order to maximize customers' satisfaction, along with the enhancement to the company's logistics network in keeping up with the international standards.

One would need an x-ray machine or inside knowledge of the contents or the nature of the sender's business. My "spot the scam" radar is twitching.

When i first arrived in Phuket about 12 years ago i regularly used the postal service to have things sent from Australia, some items never arrived and the others that did had a tear in the packaging so they could see what was inside it
I just stopped using their service and have not used it since that time, plenty of other people had the same problems with mail delivery at that time as well

Don't be daft, it's Thailand. The sender would have been compelled to write "very expensive diamond ring" on the declaration sticker.

Increasingly common in the UK now that Royal Mail has been sol by the tory filth, and the Eastern European low cost labour delivery boys are handling it. I would say 3 out of 4 parcels or envelopes I have delivered has a corner lifted.

Can't seem to think why there would need to be a declaration sticker on a small parcel going from Petchaburi to a recipient in Surat Thani.
