MAE HONG SON, 15th January 2018 (NNT) – Officials from the northern border province of Mae Hong Son and Myanmar together celebrated the 66th anniversary of Kayah State Day, which falls on January 15th, at Loikaw, the capital of Kayah State in Myanmar.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Mae Hong Son, Sakorn Rungruang, the Chief Minister of Kayah State, U L Phaung Sho, and officials from both countries.

Mr. Sakorn said Mae Hong Son and Loikaw have fostered a close friendship, while Thailand and Myanmar will commemorate their 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. The Deputy Governor expressed his confidence that all areas of cooperation between the two countries will be further enhanced.

Kayah State, one of the seven states of Myanmar, shares a border with Mae Hong Son.
