A major drug trafficker was arrested and charged after narcotic suppression bureau police raided his luxury house on Chaengwattana road in Nonthaburi province today.
The drug suspect was identified as Jirat Pensophinvich, alias Charun Khamsid or known widely as Aek-ouan.
According to Narcotic Suppression Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sommai Kongvisaisook, the suspect was a former drug prisoner, and is a key drug trafficker at command level.
He said Aek-ouan is the person who received and gathered all purchase orders from drug networks before sending all orders to drug traffickers in neighbouring country by mobile phones
He said that first he would ask his men outside the country to register their mobile phones inThailand and later place drug orders via them.
The commissioner added that the arrest of Aek-ouan would help to cut much of the drug network under his command in Nonthaburi and adjacent provinces.
The narcotics suppression police later impounded his Mercedes Benz and a new Honda Civic cars in his luxury house, two million baht in cash and other property for examination.
