SAMUT SAKHON, 27th August 2017 (NNT) - Samut Sakhon is preparing to develop whale sighting in the region into a new tourist attraction.
The Fishery Association of Samut Sakhon today arranged a press tour to Ban Pak Khlong Pramong fishing village in Panthai Norasing sub-district to introduce tourists and members of the media to little known places and the local people’s way of life.
Located in the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand, Samut Sakhon is well-known in the seafood industry. The seaside province also boasts a particular whale sighting spot. A pair of mother and child Bryde's whales, named Wan Dee and Wan Mai were seen 16 kilometers off the coast during the trip today.
Various agencies plan to promote lesser known places, including the sea-engulfed shrine containing the Phra Buddha Maha Samut statue, and whale and dolphin sighting spots as must-visits in Samut Sakhon.
