Slightly off topic, but where are the go-to islands these days? Been a few years since I was in Thailand, and my girlfriend and daughter want to have a look-see. I found Samui a bit too touristy, but fun for a single bloke, Kih Chang a bit quiet, but good for relaxing, Koh Samet just ok.

Check our Koh Phayam, especially Aow Yai beach. I spent a month over chrimbo there, excellent. Limited electric although that is improving, no cars and a bamboo hut on the beach, what more could a man want?
There`s a thread from 2010 on here: https://teakdoor.com/thailands-travel...ko-phayam.html (Ko Phayam)

    it has not changed much.

Search for missing Russian, body parts found

Police divers searching for the missing Russian tourist, twenty-three-year old Valentina Novozhenova, have recovered body parts from the sea.

A team of nine divers were searching the waters about four hundred meters off the Cape View Point on the island of Koh Tao, Thailand when the discovery was made.

The area is known to be popular with divers and also dangerous due to the rocks and swirling currents.

There may be many body parts in those waters. No mention of identifying any.

If you'd just bothered to look a little further down....

On shore officers also found a green vest and a pair of sunglasses that they believe belonged to Ms Novozhenova.

Only mentioned taking the body parts to the police lab for DNA testing. Nothing identified yet.

The last I checked, green vest and sunglasses BELIEVED TO BELONG TO, so nothing identified as I said.

Body Parts in Koh Tao do not belong to missing Russian Woman

The five objects believed to have been human body parts, found by search and rescue divers on Koh Tao, do not match the DNA of the missing Russian woman Valentina Novozhyonova who went missing on February 15th.

All of the recovered objects as well as a T-shirt thought to belong to the girl were sent for DNA testing at the Institute of Forensic Science of the Royal Thai Police, however tests revealed the flesh was not human and DNA taken from the clothing did not match the missing woman. The revelation that the objects are animal remains is in direct contrast to earlier media reports that said they were part of a human hip and arm.

Police are now holding meetings to discuss the next steps in the search. They also wish to question a friend of the missing woman who is due to return to Koh Tao from the Philippines next week.

The mother of the missing woman has now arrived on the island.

SURAT THANI - Police have expanded their search for Valentina Novozhyonova, 23, who went missing on Koh Tao more than two weeks ago after discovering that she was a free-diving enthusiast and possibly suffered from a mental problem.

Koh Tao police on Sunday learned from a Russian man identified only as Alexander that he had met the woman on Koh Tao as they shared an interest in free diving.

The information corresponded with police finding that her weight belt, fins, goggles and a towel were not in her room. Police, volunteers and local leaders went to possible free diving locations of Koh Tao to try to find the blue towel as they believed that the woman might have left it where she was diving.

Pol Lt Col Napha Senathip, deputy chief of the Koh Tao police station, said on Sunday that the mobile phone of Ms Novozhyonova showed that she used the Line messaging software to seek advice from a psychiatrist. The communication indicated she had an unreasonable fear and the psychiatrist had advised her to seek help quickly.

The communication indicated she had an unreasonable fear and the psychiatrist had advised her to seek help quickly.

Police also found medication in her bag and asked a medical authority to identify it.

"She was seen near her room between 5.40 and 6pm on Feb 15. She inquired about diving and reservations for a ferry trip to Koh Samui on 3pm on Feb 16. We learned that she did not make the trip and should be on Koh Tao," Pol Lt Col Napha said.

Surat Thani police chief Pol Maj Gen Apichart Boonsriroj said police asked locals, tourists and volunteers to look for traces of the woman near boulders, dive sites and marine areas and contacted 11 free diving firms and divers' ferry services but had not uncovered any clues.

"Police are checking local surveillance camera footage especially from 6pm of Feb 15. We have not seen the person anywhere. So we cannot confirm whether she is still alive or not. We cannot conclude a cause of the disappearance until we have a clue," Pol Maj Gen Apichart said.

Lovely, Thailand trying to blame the victim for her demise much the same way Airbus automatically blames dead pilots when their planes screw up.

I have been complaining about my large labia since the birth of my son 14 years ago. after doctor told me there was nothing I could do and that I just had to live with it. I couldn't understand how there could be nothing I could do about it but lost hope as no one would listen. I had seriously considered cutting them off myself on many occasions but was worried I wouldn't be able to do both sides and would be even more mangled than I already was. During my first pregnancy it grew to an enormous size even though many said that wasn't possible. I am also convinced that the vacuum they used along with the episiotomy led to what I have now. It was a dark world for me until, i saw a post on the internet about Dr ken the herbal man, seeing his previous works, i decided to contact him through his email at ([email protected]) and he responded to me and gave me the herbal cream oil, which i used to reduce my labia and make it very much smaller. He can do the same for you, if you have similar problem, but now i am very happy.

You Seppos just don't get irony, do you?

Is it stupidity or what? Or maybe it's some sort of mental colour blindness?
