Thread: NACC to recommend seizure of Sathit Rangkhasiri’s 714 million baht

The National Anti-Corruption Commission has found former chief of the Revenue Department Mr Sathit Rangkhasiri of being unusually rich for having amassed 714 million baht in wealth.

NACC secretary-general Sansern Polchiak disclosed on Thursday that an investigating panel headed by Ms Supa Piyachitti had found out that the wealth amassed by Mr Sahit was kept under his name, the names of his family members, Sirikanchana company and outsiders.

Sansern said that the commission decided to submit its findings to the Office of the Attorney-General with a recommendation that the 714 million baht ill-gotten wealth should be confiscated and declared state property.

The NACC will also notify Mr Sathit’s immediate superior to fire or to remove him from government service for alleged corruption.

The ill-gotten assets amassed by Mr Sathit include 607 million baht worth of gold bullion; 3.5 million baht in two bank accounts of his wife; 5.7 million baht in four bank accounts of his children; 15 million baht in investments in a company; four land plots in Nong Khai, Samut Prakan and Nakhon Ratchasima worth 22.5 million baht; one plot of land in Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima worth 46 million baht held under the name of Sirikanchana company.
