Totally insane! Stabs her what, 22 times!

Then hands the knife over to his pal who then walks off with it, along with his group of mates.

Wow, what a shame. For lack of a wepon is no reason not to try to help the girl. A smack with a backpack of books, the bike to the back of the head. Any number of interventions. To do nothing I would find it hard to live with myself. Pathetic really. Just plain sad.

It's the almost universal misogynist view that the incident was 'domestic', so taboo, no one allowed to step in and interfere.

Also, those nearest to the attack seemed to be associates of the murderer.

    Well said, Fish.

My feelings exactly. Men standing around should be ashamed. It is a man's duty to defend a woman (or at least try his best).

Not saying my Muay Thai skills would be much use to disarm the guy, he looked very intent on killing his victim - but I sure as fuck wouldn't just stand there. Multiple chances to strike him from behind - or at least distract him, giving the cops time to arrive.

Would ideally need 2 determined guys from 2 different angles to stop this attack - would have to be lucky to do it alone, would require a do or die effort.

RIP.. hate pussy faced men that do this to women (e- na hee) (e na tor mea)..

It'd take only one unarmed person, with the skills, to disarm and immobilize the attacker on the spot, not luck.

Focus on the knife and keep self out of reach,....plus training, speed and good reflexes.

As you say, though, a rucksack (or anything solid enough) to his head would help.

From the video, the guy doing the vid is with pals watching the event from a window, and counted the blows quite calmly, in Hindi, and commented on the event. They knew it was about to happen, so had a camera ready.

The difficulty is that having such skills is quite infrequent, and for such a person to be walking past is even longer odds.

For the average person, intervening in a knifing is likely to raise the chances from one being knifed from about 0% to somewhere closer to 100% - as the boy found out - fatally- when defending a girl being murdered in Australia recently.

Without substantial martial arts skills, the use of a heavy weapon - like a baseball bat to the head, seems like the only option, It would have to be a K.O. and I doubt a rucksack could do the job.

A 'kick to the balls' is the answer a taekwondo master once suggested to me. However, what's the chances that you'd make good contact. Probably tricky

Yeah...bizarre. Unless the domestic started earlier and he started filming well after the attack started.
Did he jump off the bike on the ground or jump around it?

There was plenty of opportunity to kick him in the face when he was hunched over her.

An Indian of decent that I know locally told Me that in India after a motorcycle accident nobody will help you, because when the police arrive they will implicate the do gooder as being the cause of the accident. So they have a culture of cowardice.

One wonders what the rationale might be behind posting something as gratuitous as that obscene video?

Asia is home to the savage heathen in a base society scarcely different to that which prevails in the animal kingdom. One doesn't need a graphic depiction of what we already know.

I watched it and am not convinced that I'd even bother helping either.
Saw a beating in Thailand and asked why nobody would help, a few women were saying that maybe she did do something to deserve it

Who gives a shit? Neaderthal actions in a primate mentality of a country, no place for heroes getting any appreciation, so even bother

The Swede in Pattaya recently who helped out a Jap guy, he got KO'd. Didn't read anywhere that he was a hero or got commended for his bravery

Thais usually do not interfere with other peoples issues for those exact reasons.

    Way it is.

I'm not sure where to start with this post. Could it be the nonchalant opening line after a woman has been stabbed mutliple times while the Internet gawks and ogles her very public and gruesome passing?

    Maybe.

Could it be the hopelessly insensitive and idiotic rhetorical question that follows shortly after?

    Possibly.

Well, either would be an insight into the mind of a simple man, but I settled on the last few words of imbecilic waffle instead:

The Swede in Pattaya recently who helped out a Jap guy, he got KO'd. Didn't read anywhere that he was a hero or got commended for his bravery.

The only reason this "man" would help someone out is to be called a hero. You're a speshul one, Pat, that's for sure.

A real hero doesn't do it for selfless reasons Pat.

I once saved 2 kids from a burning house., their mom had left them home alone while she went down the pub. Their elder brother had locked them in their bedroom(which had polystyrene under the wallpaper) so he could play out with his mates. I booted 2 doors in to get those 2 kids out and put my life at risk trying to put the fire out with the washing up bowl in the kitchen sink.... until I realised it was a strainer or whatever they're called.

    Like this, but square.......

The local evening rag turned up later with the ambulance and police and the little fukker who had locked them in there took all the credit and had his photo on the front page proclaiming him a hero the next day, the little shit.

Did i care about the glory? Did i fuck......

I had a warrrant out for my arrest

I just mind my own business, that's all.

Many years ago I saw a guy in London step in when a bloke was beating up his GF on the train, restraining the guy. The GF went mad, grabbed the hero and started hitting him and shouting 'fucking leave him alone you fucking c**t'

There is big difference in Expats.

There is the Newbie who don't know shit from sticky puddin and there are the long term punters who realize that how fuked the injustice ya do not want to get involved.

Way it is in this fucked up shithole.

Play it as you wish fukers.

I can bet that if you are not physically fit or nimble, you will be too scared to intervene...Not always, but it's the rule, usually, when things are physical...

There's also this trigger thing that just naturally clicks in...For me, it's to intervene...To help someone when it's clear it's serious...Very hard to stop that instinct...

I find that a great yell can freeze a scene for a moment...Done it a few times, even in sports...It buys you time...May not work on the "crazed"...
