PATTANI, 1 September 2016 (NNT) – The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 is preparing to withdraw its remaining battalions from the southernmost provinces to pave the way for the final stage of the peace campaign.

Spokesperson of the ISOC Region 4, Col Pramote Promin said ISOC was about to complete its second stage of its campaign which focuses on the enhancement of local civil servants, security officials and the community sector.

Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Army is removing its troops out of the Deep South. There remain three ad hoc battalions from Narathiwat and Yala. All of them will retreat from the region by September 30th. Defense duties will be transferred to Army Region 4 and local security units from October 1st onwards.

Col Pramote added the third stage which is the final one entails peace promotion and sustainable development.
