Thread: Teacher at prestigious Thai school accused of sexually abusing students

Images of a teacher at one of Thailand's oldest and most prestigious secondary schools having unprotected sex with male students aged between 13-18 years old have appeared online.

While the teachers face appeared blurred, faces of his victims are clearly visible on the photos.

Allegations of a cover-up with the help of other teachers and settlement payments have also been made.

Images from a Twitter feed were posted to a Facebook page of the schools students. The page calls for action against a science teacher without actually mentioning any name.

Yeah, and in the interests of keeping the school's students' prestigious parents not losing face, the system for students to come forward is not private at all, resulting in no students coming forward, as hoped.

Rubbish comparison. TIT where face is everything. Not litigious USA.
Rubbish hyperbole. Systems can easily be made available where a victim has the opportunity to report without anyone but he who is being reported to, knows. But if there is NO system and the victim has to boldly walk into a particular office during office hours, where anyone can see him doing so, and thus know who the victim is, then of course you're going to get a low or zero response rate (In Thailand, not California).

Latest news in Thai is the director is now playing verbal sleight of hand tricks and deflection. He's blaming the teacher's ex lover of shopping the photos and promulgating them, and that none of Rose Garden's students were involved.
This flies in the face of already established accusations of cover-up, it flies in the face of the photos show the students but not the face of the teacher, and also recent revelations that Rose Garden students knew because some had witnessed stuff....sex in the library is one thing that some students stumbled upon.....and THOSE students were hushed.
Bugger the kids (pun not intended), it's all about retaining the school's reputation. We're 130 years old. We have produced more Prime Ministers than any other school. The teacher is a good teacher. The ex-lover is malicious and jealous. The photos are of the ex and the teacher, and the ex has altered them..... and so on.
The director is deflecting. Trying to cover up the cover-up.
And he will do all in his power to ensure NO Rose Garden student points a finger publicly.

All this is happening because teachers are highly respected in Thailand and the whole institution of teaching needs to maintain its credibility.

But it looks like some Mattayom kids are going to bring down the school and possibly the system to me. They just have to keep releasing data they have on the Pedo, day by day to show how many lies and just how conniving the school will be to protect itself at the expense of the students.

Todays releases showing he knew the kids were underage is damning indeed.

Must be the school that the "top brass" send their kids to, by the look of those photos?

BANGKOK — While the director of an elite boys school defends one of its teachers against allegations of being a pedophile predator, a group of school students has offered proof he knowingly solicited for sex from a minor as recently as Wednesday.

In a series of photos posted online, Saroj Meepai, the now-suspended science teacher at Suankularb Wittayalai, was seen going to meet what he believed to be a 17-year-old schoolboy at a restroom in a downtown shopping mall.

The photos, dubbed “sting operation,” were posted Saturday by Troll Students of Suankularb, the same Facebook group that first drew attention to Saroj’s Twitter account where he reportedly published photos of the abuse.

I am optimistic that the truth will come out, since the "Troll Students" appear to be smart and determined. Not smart (or brave) enough to get the "bait" at the toilets to actually turn up (and I can't fault them for that) for the photos, but they definitely seem to be pressing hard, in their restricted way.

I'm not optimistic that the entire episode won't be swept under the carpet. The school director will obviously have some clout and influence. He wants to cover it all up, and especially cover up the cover up.
