My phobia of dentists was caused when i was a nipper; my gran often looked after me when mum went to work. One day gran had to see her dentist, and there being no-one else to look after me, I had to go along too. So there I was, sitting in the corner of the dentist's surgery watching the proceedings intently....dentist told gran to "open wide" and then put his hand in her mouth and removed her full set of dentures..... I had no idea what dentures were. The locals were then entertained by the dentist running down the street in his white coat trying to catch a screaming 4 year old running for his life.

No, i don't actually take them on a daily basis. The dentist has his own cache, which he doles out.

One time he overdosed me and i fell asleep!! I guess it's coz i'm not used to taking drugs anymore. And he numbs my gums big time too. And gives me extra strength pain killers for when it all wears off.

So, high as a kite on the bus home and then high as a kite again a few hours later. My ex used to make a sort of gum numbing poltice out of marijuana as well, which didn't work too well because i would get the roaring munchies and not be able to chew!!

Oh the joys of going to the dentist....

Afterwards, great. I go off into lala land. The best is getting the bus home, drugged up to the eyeballs and drooling and talking to yourself.
If your dentist is treating you with intravenous diazepam or even oral diazepam in a dosage strong enough to sedate you and yet raises no objections to you to returning home unaccompanied using public transport then he is both unprofessional and negligent.

Don't worry. He was and is totally professional. He used to let me rest before the bus ride. Which was only 10 minutes and quite often my boyfriend would come and get me. But he would wait outside, so much his fear of dentists is!! and he had perfect teeth, bastard.

I think, if it was necessary, my dentist or his wife would have driven me home. But i was ok for the bus. After six hours of dental work. I just needed some fresh air. And the boyfriends arm around me.

SWIM says the ones they sell along Sukhumvit near Nana for 250 Baht are surprisingly real.
