Anti-narcotics police raided a large crocodile farm here Tuesday, seizing the integrated manufacturing-and-sales operation authorities allege is being used to launder money for a drug lord.
The operation against the Sri Ayutthaya crocodile farm in Tha Rua district was part of a nationwide raid by anti-narcotics officers at 72 locations suspected to be part of a drug network operated by Pornkamol Saengliew, alias Saw Ming. Police and officials from the Anti-Money Laundering Office seized the farm's operations, cars, cash, gold and land-title deeds. They also froze bank accounts worth combined balances of at least 600 million baht, said Pol Capt Suvanee Sawaengphol, AMLO's deputy sectary general for operations.
