The incident occurred on Thursday Morning off the coast of Tawaen Beach on Larn Island and resulted in the eventual death of Mr. Stephen David Campbell aged 38 from Blackpool, England.
His friend, Mr. Mark Kear aged 38 and his girlfriend Khun Ganyarat aged 38 reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station and said the pair had been in Pattaya for 5 days and were staying at a North Pattaya Hotel.
They decided to spend the day at Larn Island on Thursday and when they arrived Mr. Campbell decided to rent a Jet Ski. Mr. Campbell was seen driving the Jet Ski at some speed and was seen to come off when he struck a rope used to anchor a boat. He sustained a 20cm long laceration across his neck and was losing blood quickly.
Mr. Campbell was taken to Hospital but could not be saved by medics. Police have seized the Jet Ski to see if a mechanical issue was to blame for the accident.
