Two women seriously injured in late night South Pattaya road accident

Two women seriously injured in late night South Pattaya road accident

Two women were injured in the early hours of Thursday in a road accident on the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya.

Their motorbike collided with a stationary 6-wheel truck and according to witnesses, it appeared the driver of the bike was using her mobile phone at the time.

The passenger on the bike, Khun Waraporn aged 16 sustained a broken left arm and minor head injuries and was rushed to Hospital.

The bike driver, Khun Asinar aged 20 suffered a crushed left leg as she became stuck between her bike and the truck following the collision.

Police are investigating the case and will speak with the bike driver as soon as she is fit to be interviewed.

We understand no blame has been put on the truck driver who was judged to have parked his vehicle in the correct way.

The true test will be whether she ever talks on his phone while operating a motor vehicle again. I wish her a full recovery, this time.

Four foot from the pavement, set at a jaunty angle, right next to an intersection is the "correct" way to park a big truck.

^ Thai police exercise greater freedom in decision making regarding accidents from the rear. Had it been a "head on," affair then it was obvious the "Drivers," fault. She would have been using "hands free," in a frontal mode.
