Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

^ weird way of thinking you have, BobR
I am sure the UK could cover anyone anywhere, at extra cost
as it is you have to buy private insurance if you leave the UK
Good to see Bob still sees Commies round every corner......
Why was BobR suspended/banned? Did he also speak poorly of Pai or the murdering cop there? By the way, no one should ever, ever visit Pai - a dangerous and evil place.
I asked my insurance company about riding a bike on holiday in Thailand.
They told me I would have to have a UK bike license and it would cost an extra £15 per day to be covered.
I suppose that`s the reason most dont bother with insurance....?
I have never bothered. Licence or insurance. Ignorance is bliss, I think my attitude has been changed over the last couple of years. But which insurance company wouuld offer bike insurance for Thailand?
Insure & Go offered it to me,in the UK.
Any updates on the victim? Is he out of hospital yet?
I pay about £85 a year for worldwide cover, upto 90 days on holiday...bike insurance was quoted to me at £15 per day extra....and i told them it was for Thailand.
Former Cathedral teacher left in coma by brutal Thai attacker returns home to Yorkshire
03 August 2013
Adam Pickles.
A teacher left in a coma after he was brutally assaulted in Thailand has returned to Yorkshire as his parents prepare to face his alleged attacker again in court.
Former Cathedral Academy teacher Adam Pickles has yet to wake more than a year after he was set upon in Pattaya, where he lived and taught English.
The father-of-one was transferred to Woodlands Respite Care Centre in York last Thursday to continue his rehabilitation after six months at the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in London.
It means his parents, Adele and Andrew, of Leeds, and his fellow teachers from Wakefield can visit more often, which it is hoped will help to improve his responses.
Mr Pickles, 41, taught English at Cathedral Academy between 2001 and 2005 and has been supported by fellow teacher Dani Nicholls, of Wakefield.
She said: “I am really looking forward to seeing him again and it will good for us who live up north so we can visit him more regularly.
“Everyone at Cathedral is rooting for him and have been asking how he is getting on.
“Everything is still uncertain at the moment, but there are still small improvements, like him opening his eyes for a more significant amount of time. “We just hope that he will pull through, never mind how long it takes, as it is very difficult to think of Adam like this as he was such a lively and active person.”
The Pickles will fly to Thailand later this month for the trial of Wolverhampton ex-pat Sean Henry Tinsley, who is accused of their son’s attempted murder.
They will also visit Adam’s son Ben, who lives with his mother Pafan, while they are there.
Fundraising towards legal costs and Adam’s care will continue when his father’s band, John’s Followers, reform after 45 years for a charity gig at in Keighley tomorrow.

Murder Investigation Opened in UK Regarding Death of British National in Pattaya in 2012, Public Appeal for Information Launched
Detectives investigating the murder of a man who died following a serious assault in Thailand have issued an appeal for information.
Adam Pickles, pictured, who was 48 at the time of his death and a well known teacher in Pattaya previously, died in January 2021 following serious injuries he sustained in an incident in the Pattaya area in May 2012.
A murder investigation was opened by West Yorkshire Police following Adam’s death in West Yorkshire in January 2021, and officers are keen to hear from anyone who has information about the attack following a televised appeal on the current series of BBC Crimewatch Live, which was broadcast earlier today UK time (Wednesday, 12 March).
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Damian Roebuck, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said:
“I would particularly like to hear from anyone who was in Thailand at the time of this incident.
“We believe Adam’s attacker will have confided in someone who was living there at the time about what happened, and we need that person, or those people, to come forward and tell us what they know.
“Adam suffered traumatic brain injuries in this attack. The injuries he suffered were so severe that he required round-the-clock care for the rest of his life.
“If you know of anything at all which may lead us to convicting the person who inflicted these horrendous injuries on Adam, then now is the time to come forward and tell us.
“Adam’s family are determined to get justice for him, and I am committed to doing all I can to help them in their cause.”
Information can be reported to the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 101, or by using the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or online.
Today’s episode of BBC Crimewatch Live can be seen on BBC iPlayer for the next 30 days.
Other media has reported that one suspect related to this case in an alleged road rage incident was sentenced in 2015 to six years in jail for assault — downgraded from attempted murder — after an initial not guilty ruling was overturned on appeal. However, relevant authorities are now seeking further information and actively investigating the case as a murder and not assault.

I hope they catch and prosecute the prick who did this. I'm not holding my breath. The deceased had worked hard to set himself and his family up for a good life.
KEIGHLEY TIMES 12 November 2015
So he was found guilty and jailed for 6 years by the Thais for the attack, so he will have been deported after release and is probably back in the UK now, so why dont the police locate the [at][at][at][at] and question him. What is the point of asking people 13 years later for their recollections. The decision to imprison expat Sean Henry Tinsley for six years in the Far East country was this week welcomed by Adam’s father Andrew.
He had expected an agonising wait of up to 18 months after submitting an appeal to judges against their original decision to acquit his son’s alleged attacker.
Mr Pickles received the news in a 5am call from his legal advisor in Thailand at the Prachaya Law Office and Business.
UK police, stupid as ever.11!
13 years later it's still got your curtains twitching tax.
BLD, you ugly bloated thick australian fuck, just give it a rest will you. You are making even more of a fool of yourself than you normally do.
Does British law allow for charging folk with assault or murder charges committed overseas?
There seems next to no chance the wolverhampton scumbag will ever be charged in the UK.
Perhaps they are hoping the Thai will open a murder case (if he can be tried twice for same event) and then they can extradite him?
