The death of a Dolphin and the end of a Buffalo’s life.
A couple of sad animal stories now Bang Saen and Sattahip.
We begin at Bang Sean Beach where journalists were told of a dead dolphin that had been discovered along the beach. A local Veterinarian was called in and confirmed that the Dolphin had been dead for sometime. Officials from the Burapa University were called in to determine the cause of death which they suspect was caused by the Dolphin becoming trapped in fishing nets. They suspect the fishermen released the already dead Dolphin back into the sea and it was eventually discovered washed-up on the beach.
The second story comes from Sattahip where journalists were called to an area of wasteland by Khun Surasak aged 31 who lives in a small corrugated iron hut nearby. As he was relaxing inside his hut, he heard a noise outside. He opened the door and found two Buffalo’s standing outside. They turned and began to walk away as if they wanted Khun Surasak to follow. He followed the two animals to the area of wasteland where he saw a further buffalo lying on the ground in distress. He then called local rescue workers who found a bite mark on the Buffalo consistent with a snake bite. As if the two buffalo’s knew their friend was about to die, they huddled together and prepared for the inevitable. A very sad site and a tragic end to the life of a Buffalo.
